BRIGHTER THAN SUNSHINE

You can call me Gem. I'm 20 years of age. I see the world full of colors. I don't believe in black and white

Dubbed as the “Devil’s Mountain” with its tales of apparitions and evil energies, I got interested then jumped at the chance when I was invited to conquer Mt. Cristobal at Dolores, Quezon.

It’s been four months since my first climb at Mt. Batulao in Batangas and after the close encounter with the mountains, I got hooked!

For a first-timer, my mountain gear wasn’t even close. Wearing only a shirt, shorts, and pair of slippers (yes, imagine the horror!), it left me small wounds and callouses as my remembrance from the climb.

That’s why this time, I geared up! (only without the arm sleeves)

This was the view from the base of Mt. Cristobal and it took us almost 5 freaking hours to reach the summit!

And by the time we reached the peak, we were welcomed by thick fogs surrounding the whole place and leaving us with no view at the panorama at all. So unfortunate!

There were 30+ of us. Yay! The more, the merrier! Most of the participants are first-timers.

I was with my boyfriend, by the way hahaha. For the couples out there, you can consider this activity to bond with each other only to veer away with the usual date in a restaurant or a coffee shop. Traveling is always fun!

Despite the disappointing view from the summit and the body sores I’m getting right now, the beauty of the mountains and its entirety amazes me. On to the next one! :)
